Short Walks

One of the pleasures of Kintyre is being able to jump in a car and be able to walk on a beach within 20 minutes of any Kintyre location, often such as at Muasdale, Machrihanish or Carradale you have access to a beach literally within a minute or two, and no transport needed.
In other areas such as Tarbert or Campbeltown you have the pleasure of being able to step outside your accommodation and meander along the harbour side taking in some of the fresh sea air.
At other places such as Skipness, and some of the smaller hamlets you can access short woodland walks that take you through ground scattered with bluebells or along by a waterfall.
Beach Walks

Probably the greatest attraction to Kintyre is its coastline. Kintyre is surrounded by beautiful clear sea water rich with wildlife such as dolphins, seals, herons, swans and otters. Wildlife aside, the beaches are one of the most underused parts of Kintyre and as such you can walk for miles without meeting another person!

Long Distance Walks
For keen walkers who relish a challenge why not take on the beauty, unique geography, and varying terrain of the Kintyre Way walk which spans the length and breadth of this fantastic peninsula?
The Kintyre Way first opened in 2006 and joins other fantastic walks such as the West Highland Way and the Cowal Way taking the west of Scotland to one of the best places to visit for walking.
The Kintyre Way is divided into 7 manageable sections ranging from 8 - 20 miles each and varying in difficulty from easy to challenging. It is not uncommon to do a number of sections in a single day, but less proficient walkers can do a section at a time and spend a couple of nights at their favourite accommodation.
