Access to Kintyre and Tarbert, the gateway to Kintyre can be made by coach or local bus services, by car, or by ferry.
Bus / Coach
Bus services run from Glasgow using Citylink which take roughly 3 hours with stops and the bus carries on through to Campbeltown after stopping at the bus stop in Tarbert.
Local services also run from Campbeltown through Tarbert to Lochgilphead on a regular basis, all stopping at Tarbert bus stop only 100 yards from the harbour.
Car
It is a pleasant drive from Glasgow following the A83 to Tarbert and North Kintyre along the shores of Loch Lomond, Loch Long and then Loch Fyne.
Ferry
The ferry from Portavadie, Cowal takes only 25 minutes across Loch Fyne to Tarbert. Ferries also link Arran to Claonaig and also Islay to Kennacraig, which is just outside Tarbert.
