Killean Estate

Luxury Self Catering Holiday Cottages, Villa & Stately House

Killean Estate is a 4,000 acre estate, offering a selection of 8 period properties and 10 contemporary cottages.

Located on the beautiful west-coast of Kintyre, on the southern edge of Tayinloan village, the estate offers the most magnificent views over the ocean towards the islands of Gigha, Jura and Islay.  We have over a mile of our own sandy beach which regularly has seals basking on the rocks, rabbits darting about the dunes and the occasional otter sighting.  Our working farm is currently rearing 300 cattle (Aberdeen Angus and Highland) and over 1,000 sheep.  There are 3 lochs, a walled garden with playground, burns and waterfalls and many many acres of woodland, heath and pastures for you to explore at your leisure – in fact the Kintyre Way walk weaves its way along the perimeter of the estate, from Tayinloan towards Carradale.  We even run the local village shop!

You are welcome to fish on our lochs (FOC) or from the seafront and can arrange shooting activities with our gamekeeper (various prices).  The estate is fabulous for hiking and there are several trails suitable for mountain biking.  Locally, golfing, horse riding, boat excursions (whale watching) and water sports are all readily available.

Short breaks (min 3 nights) are available all year except peak summer (min 7 nights).  Flexible arrival days.
